O Barrett-Jackson é uma empresa especializada em leilões de carros de coleção que foi estabelecida em 1971 em Scottsdale no estado do Arizona nos Estados Unidos. A empresa tem 5 localidades principais para seus eventos que mais parecem uma super produção e são televisionados pelo Speed Channel. Além de Scottsdale tem Palm Beach na Flórida, Orange County na Califórnia e Las Vegas em Nevada. Aqui algo bem mundano e uma surpresa. Esse Corvette 1991 automático vendeu por $20.350 Dólares, o preço de alguns ZR-1s em bom estado. É um Corvette convencional porém super bem conservado e com 18.000 milhas no odômetro. O 1991 foi o primeiro ano da nova carroceria do C4 porém ainda tinha o motor L98 que foi usado pela última vez e produzia 250 hp. Impressionante o valor que esse carro arrecadou por ser um Corvette 1991 convencional e automático.

Aqui o lote mais interessante do leilão, o par de Corvettes 1981. Ambos praticamente zero, um tem 4 milhas no odômetro e o outro de duas cores 14 milhas. O de duas cores é o primeiro Corvette fabricado em Bowling Green Kentucky e mostra a nova câmara de pintura muito mais sofisticada a ponto de poder fazer os carros em duas cores. Já o bege de uma cor foi o último fabricado em St Louis. Ambos os carros com transmissão automática de 3 velocidades. O lote do par foi vendido por $300.000 Dólares. Porém, num lance emocionante, o comprador devolveu os carros para caridade uma vez que foram oferecidos inicialmente para ajudar uma fundação para deficientes físicos. Impressionante, belos carros. Os carros serão leiloados novamente no próximo Barrett-Jackson.

Para quem conhece os preparadores e modificadores de Corvette da década de 70 vai indentificar a frente desse 1970 com os Baldwin-Motion GTs. Na verdade as peças da frente são deles sim mas desconheço se foi feito originalmente nas oficinas da Baldwin-Motion. 1991 foi o primeiro ano da carroceria revisado do C4. Esse carro, quando novo, custava mais de $60.000 Dólares e era considerado um clássico. O mercado tem sido cruel até agora com os ZR-1s e esse vendeu por apenas $23.100 Dólares. Ainda uma compra bem inteligente porque o potêncial de valor desse carro ainda esta por vir. Esse carro tem ainda a primeira versão do LT5 com seus modestos 375 hp (versões anteriores viriam com 405 hp) porém não deixa de ser muito interessante e na cor correta.

Por si só, esse 1969 conversível já é muito interessante. Mas esse carro veio de fábrica com um motor 427 ci de 390 hp ainda que não L88. O bloco foi trocado depois. 4 marchas e todos os componentes da opção L88 (além do motor L88) foram adicionados. O carro vendeu por modestos $27.500 Dólares e para um carro tão divertido, bem cuidado e conversível digo que foi uma exelente compra para o novo proprietário.

Esse para mim, foi o Corvette mais interessante do leilão e foi vendido por modestos $49.500 Dólares. Se você acompanha o Corvette Brasil diariamente sabe que o artigo do ZL1 foi o mais lido até hoje. Esse carro é um C3 1969 com motor ZL1 de alumínio que é o motor de número 51 fabricado. O motor de alumínio e 427 ci tem 516 hp e o carro está espetacularmente pintado como o ZL1 branco de Utah. Um carro que me despertou muita vontade.
